Making a difference...One Starfish at a time

Our family started fostering back in 2005. We have been blessed to love on many babies. There has been many twists and turns throughout our journey and in December of 2010 we were called for placement of a newborn baby boy. His biological mother worked a case plan for 18 months and after 23 months she surrendered her rights and we adopted 'Sprout' in December of 2012. Our faith has been tried and tested and we are still certain that God is faithful!

December 22, 2011

Yesterday I waited for the agency worker to call and confirm Sprouts visit.  A few minutes after 9am the phone rang.  The agency worker was on the other end saying that maternal grandma couldn't find bio mom.  So, there was NO VISIT.  Can I tell you about the relief that flooded my WHOLE body?  I know that it is SO wrong to have that mind set when you're a foster parent but I will admit.  We are overly, unhealthily (is that a word?)  attached!!!  I can't imagine losing this boy to his mother because I DO NOT think she can parent him 24/7.  Her lack of proper communication with the case worker confirmed it.  My sweet boy turns a year old tomorrow...makes my heart happy he's still here!! More tomorrow :)
