Making a difference...One Starfish at a time

Our family started fostering back in 2005. We have been blessed to love on many babies. There has been many twists and turns throughout our journey and in December of 2010 we were called for placement of a newborn baby boy. His biological mother worked a case plan for 18 months and after 23 months she surrendered her rights and we adopted 'Sprout' in December of 2012. Our faith has been tried and tested and we are still certain that God is faithful!

Court went well.  It really doesn't change anything except that Sprout will meet bio dad this week while he is here on his 'field trip' from prison (5 hours away).  He asked to speak with us before court and explained that he wasn't ready to surrender his rights.  We totally understand and told him there was no rush.  He truly thinks that he can give his son a life after he is released.  I am only a foster parent and not really allowed to have an opinion.  He was a nice guy and thanked us for loving and taking care of his son.  His mother told him how happy Sprout is and he is thankful for that.  Judge really drilled into bio mom and told her she has 90 days before we talk about changing the goal from reunification to concurrent planning.  Not sure what will happen.  I know that Sprout is in God's hands and I trust that He will do the best for Sprout.  More soon...
