Making a difference...One Starfish at a time
Our family started fostering back in 2005. We have been blessed to love on many babies. There has been many twists and turns throughout our journey and in December of 2010 we were called for placement of a newborn baby boy. His biological mother worked a case plan for 18 months and after 23 months she surrendered her rights and we adopted 'Sprout' in December of 2012. Our faith has been tried and tested and we are still certain that God is faithful!

Saturday I had THE most AMAZING dream. I was showing someone a house (No, I'm not in real estate). I went into a room and called out something like "C'mon buddy...it's time to go". Little Felix (at about 2 years old) poked his head out from under the bed skirt and said "Here I am. I knew you wouldn't be worried 'cuz you know'd where I was". And the feeling that I got was just PURE LOVE. I was so overcome with love for this child and I was so proud that he was such a good boy. I woke up and was a bit taken back that it was only a dream. I have his picture from last November sitting on my night stand. He is about 22 months old and sitting on a little rocking horse. It's the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see at night. The emotion that I felt in that dream was SO real. No sure what it meant but it was wonderful...

My foster son (who I'd had for almost a year) went to live with his dad a little over a month ago, and I had a dream about him this morning too. I was just holding him and singing to him and hugging him. And when it was time for him to leave, neither one of us wanted to let go.
I never got the chance to say goodbye to him. I dropped him off at daycare the morning of court, and because he had a scheduled visit with his dad that evening, CPS just told him not to bring him back. It was AWFUL. It's STILL awful.
I just hope that the loss gets a little easier with each placement, and that, eventually, I'll be able to adopt and be able to be in their lives permanently. In the meantime, I just keep reminding myself WHY I'm doing this. These kids need me. And I know I can make a difference in their lives, even if it's just for a little while...
i am HORRIFIED reading the comment above mine, the first one posted. I am going to S's next court hearing, at least i plan to, and I am not taking S any where NEAR that building because of that!!! No good bye, that is horrific.
honestly, i am glad that you enjoyed your dream but when i picture S gone and then her showing up in my dreams...my stomach just dropped into my shoes and I feel sick already.
I am so scared.
What a beautiful dream!
My heart breaks for the first two commenters. Been there, done that! Hope I never have to go through it again!
