Making a difference...One Starfish at a time

Our family started fostering back in 2005. We have been blessed to love on many babies. There has been many twists and turns throughout our journey and in December of 2010 we were called for placement of a newborn baby boy. His biological mother worked a case plan for 18 months and after 23 months she surrendered her rights and we adopted 'Sprout' in December of 2012. Our faith has been tried and tested and we are still certain that God is faithful!

Still here...

And it looks like she'll be staying a while. Doodle left us on March 31 after being with us for 3 weeks for preventive respite. Her mother didn't request to see her once. Rules are that after 21 days child is returned to parent. The respite can only last up to 21 days. Well, Doodle left us and ended up with a 'family friend' for 2 weeks. When this 'friend' could no longer take care of her she called county services. Doodle is officially I'm foster care. Visits are set up for 3 days a week at one hour intervals. She also gets 'phone calls' per the new judge. She's 5 months old. She's settling in well.

I'm so glad that Doodle will get a chance to be part of a loving family for however long. And of course some stability in her young life.

It is so reassuring she's with you for a while!
