She called. There was a 4 hour UNSUPERVISED visit. Last week, the county worker had mentioned that if she goes an extended period of time without seeing him, maybe they should bring the visits BACK to D*S*S and keep them supervised. I brought this up to the agency worker... Nope, because they HAVE to prove reasonable efforts in court for T*P*R. So, my boy was subject to a visit with his bio mother UNSUPERVISED because of a legality. There was NO WAY for the agency worker to 'pop-in' because she doesn't have to stay home. So I have NO CLUE WHO she was with or WHAT she was doing.
I am a bit frustrated...can you tell!?!?

it is so sad that they have to risk endangering the child in order to show they did EVERYTHING they could to give this kid back to her.
it is so backwards! they spend so much time proving that they should take the child away on the first place only to immediately start trying to "prove" it is ok for the child to go back.
here this lady has so many strikes against her and here she is getting her 50th (at least) chance to endanger this kid.
4 weeks of no visits and there are no consequences...things are getting worse and worse in foster land. i can't wait until this is over for you.
This is the part I don't get about the "system". They are supposed to be "protecting" the children. A friend of mine went through a similar situation. Dad was gone for six weeks but he got to jump right back in to his unsupervised visits when he decided to come play dad again. Just sickening! I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I can not even imagine how stressful those 4 hours must have been for you.
Wow, that is amazing that Carrie said that. I read you post and quietly mouthed, "That's insane." That's what I was going to post here.
TPR can't come soon enough for Sprout.
