Making a difference...One Starfish at a time
Our family started fostering back in 2005. We have been blessed to love on many babies. There has been many twists and turns throughout our journey and in December of 2010 we were called for placement of a newborn baby boy. His biological mother worked a case plan for 18 months and after 23 months she surrendered her rights and we adopted 'Sprout' in December of 2012. Our faith has been tried and tested and we are still certain that God is faithful!

Once again, Houston...we have a problem... THEY CANCELLED!!! I'm baffled. They are actually within a 1 minute (brisk) walk of where the visit will take place. AND THEY CANCELLED!!! Earlier this week they did come to the Dr's office for a WBV for Daisy. They were both there, Psycho Chick AND bio Dad. Psycho Chick was waiting at the door for me because I was running a few minutes late. She said she thought I wasn't coming. It took EVERYTHING in me NOT to yell at her and explain to her that I'M NOT THE ONE who keeps giving up EVERY opportunity to see Daisy! I digress... Daisy is doing well. Reaching all her developmental milestones and getting funnier every day. Times are changing in our house. I know court is coming up in a few months and we have a HUGE decision to make. It kills me to think of her in someone else's arms forever. But I am trying hard to stick with the plan. Boys. Blue. It's not easy. Especially now that she calls me 'mom'.

Our case worker actually said the other day that they wished they had more young families, would we be interested in fostering again? My reply, "I don't foster, I don't give them back."
I know this is a hard decision, but I also know that our "plans" are often not as big as His.
Keep praying - and we will be too!
Love your blog. Thanks for visiting mine. The visitation thing can be very taxing. I'm glad our county has a system where you drop them off at one location that has a monitor (person) sit with them the whole visit, then you pick them up. It limits the time you have to interact with the Bparent. Which can be very good sometimes. Sometimes it's hard to hold your tongue with the things they say.(for me anyway)
Ooooh, pray, girl. We're the same way. Boys. We want boys. But maybe God is blessing you with a daughter? Keep your heart open to His plan and he'll give you the blessings He's chosen for you. I'll pray.
